Short takes on things that just happened
The teardowns take a subject apart over three thousand words. These do the opposite: one claim, a few hundred words on what the coverage missed, and the honest statement of what would change my mind.
Every one is pinned to a primary source you can check. Where a number is repeated everywhere without provenance, that is usually the story.

- The bottleneck moved to review, not to product management Andrew Ng is right that cheap code exposed a decision problem. He is describing an old constraint with the lights on. The new one is verification, and it does not scale.
- Taalas Never Sold a Chip. AMD Bought the Memory Trick Underneath It The HC1 burns Llama 3.1 8B into silicon and quotes 17,000 tokens a second. Taalas' own product page calls it a technology demonstrator. That phrase is the whole story.
